Welcome to My Personal Page
Dear Friends and Family,
A little about me...
I have been with Meals on Wheels People for almost 18 years now and I am very thankful for all the wonderful people I've met along the way in the many different positions and locations I have worked in and have gained many friendships as well. The gentleman in the picture to the left (Eugene M.), for instance, has been a participant/volunteer with the Elm Court center (a previous location where I worked at) in downtown Portland for at least 8 years. He's a retired EMT/veteran who comes in early in the morning (every morning) to help get the dining room/kitchen set up for the day. We still keep in touch to this day...
I have had the opportunity to see, first-hand, how much our services and presence in the lives of our seniors means to them and their families. We provide them, not only food to nourish their bodies, but companionship and socialization, the ability to remain independent in their own homes, volunteer opportunities after retirement, and so much more! I appreciate the fact that I work for an organization that truly loves (an often forgotten about) population but as a non-profit, we depend on the support from people like you to continue the work we do so...
Please support the Stride for Seniors Charity Walk for Meals on Wheels People! Help me raise awareness and funds to prevent hunger and social isolation in the senior community.
Meals on Wheels People creates and delivers 1.3 million nutritious meals every year throughout the greater Portland-Vancouver metro area with no waiting list. That's 1.3 million moments of human connection and essential service to those who need it most.
